Unfortunately, no. We are Open from May 1st, until at least Oct 31st. Sometimes we are able to stay open through November, if there is no snow, Sometimes, we get hammered mid October, and we have to cancel due to weather. We are at the mercy of mother nature.
Absolutely! Campfires are a big part of the camping experience, we understand completely. We do also have firewood bundles of 12 pieces, for $10 available for purchase on site. However, we do comply with local fire restrictions, if a Fire Ban does occur, we will provide propane firepits at every site, you will need your own 20 pound propane tank, and we will notify of the ban prior to your stay.
Privacy is one of our top priorities. Each of our sites is spaced out to ensure a peaceful, secluded experience, allowing you to truly disconnect and enjoy nature. Our sites are independently, bigger than most entire campgrounds.
ECC is a veteran-owned, family-operated campground dedicated to providing a welcoming and authentic outdoor experience. We are not a 501c3. We fund everything privately from our revenue, and build as we go. Our mission is to offer a place where campers can relax, explore, and make lasting memories, while allowing a safe, unique space for recovering Veterans and those groups serving our Veterans. We are proud of our service, and theirs.
Yes, we encourage you to travel light, arrive empty, and fill up your water here. It is Ice cold, fresh, clean, sourced from an Artisanal spring well. We are the headwaters of Coyote Creek, and have 7 springs that run year round.
At your site you will find a water cooler with soap beside it so that you can wash your hands. If your water runs out please refill it (at the water spigot at the stop sign) These coolers are filled just before you arrive with fresh clean water, after the cooler is cleaned and sanitized. This is intended to be a hand washing station, not a portable potable drinking station. So, Drink at your own risk if you choose to. It is from our well and is clean, cold water, but again, is intended as a hand washing station.
At the end of each night it will be your responsibility to take your trash to the dumpsters provided at E<<. If you are derelict in your trash duties and end up having unwelcome visitors that destroy your trash, you will clean it up, or we will charge you for the time it takes us to clean up. We hate to be like that, but, no one wants to clean up your trash, not even you, no one but the occasional, opportunistic bear, that loves a fresh trash bag full of yum yums. Please just take your trash to the dumpsters. It is so much easier on the bear, on us, and on you.
The first and absolute best thing you can do, is take your trash to the dumpsters. This is the Wild. We do have wild animals. They are curious and love people’s food. Some of you guys make things that make us want to come check it out… imagine what the bear is thinking. Make sure you are locking all food items away in your car, to help prevent this, and cleaning thoroughly after you cook. But mainly, Take your trash to the Dumpsters… That is really the key.
Don’t Panic! They are more afraid of you than you are of them. Most of the time, they will run from you before you see them. But, if you do happen upon a bear, Get Big, Get Loud, Put your hands up, and walk backwards slowly. Keep moving like this until you are safely away, and the bear has carried on its way. They are small, not aggressive, and more curious than anything. You can call us at anytime as well, Either one of the camp hosts, our one of the Dooleys will come out to you. Do not panic, do not run. It is really something we have seen less than a dozen times happen in 8 years. And no one has ever been injured. We understand this can be intimidating, and that is why we are very clear of what you may encounter while you are here.
The speed limit inside the camp is 15 mph. If you bring your pet, please make sure he/she has a leash when you’re walking around the campground, for consideration of other campers, pets, farm and wild animals that are inside the camp.
Yes, you are allowed to bring your UTV and other exploration vehicles. With this being said, this is a peaceful place. Inside the campgrounds and the communal areas, please, go slow, and keep the noise down. Outside the “campground” while on the ranch, let er rip. Stay on the trails that have been created, and the roads that exsist, but feel free to explore. Forest Road 76 is directly across the street, and you can access it from our ranch easily. It is 45 miles of trails and a heck of a good time, it will be more fun to go fast and be loud. The ranch is more, cruise around, look for the elk and mule deer, turkeys, chucker, and so much other cool stuff. Its more of the cool kid hang out, than the cool kid party house.
We do sell firewood at the ranch until 7 pm every day. It’s $10 for a bundle of 12 pieces. If you’re interested, ask one of our hosts, us, or give us a call. 254 434 8657

No. We are proud to work with hipcamp.com for all of our bookings. It makes for the most accurate, and up to date reflection of our availability, and prevents any an all possible double bookings. We do love the Dyrt.com, and Airbnb, as well as RVlife, and Campendium. And we are grateful they share us even though we don’t book with them. Maybe one day they will integrate the calendars and that will be a mut issue. Until then, Hipcamp.com is our booking platform.

Yes, responsible and legal alcohol consumption is permitted at your campsite. Please be respectful of other guests and always follow campground rules. Please do not throw your bottles in the Firepits, or on the ground. So pretty please, help us with this.. minimize your glass as much as you possible can, and please, don’t shoot it for target practice, or try and “decorate the rocks” with it…. please.
